The size of an algae doubles everyday. Knowing it will take forty days for the algae to cover the surface of the pool, how many days will it need to cover one quarter of the pool?

On day 39 the algae covers half the pool, on day 38 the algae covers half this surface, which is one quarter, therefore, the algae needs 38 days to cover a quarter on the surface of the pool.
